  1. ATTACK BASSENHEIM AIRFIELD

  3. Had the Go 229 seen combat against the 
  4. Allies, it would have been even more 
  5. devastating in the air than the Me 262 was.  
  6. With a top speed of 607 mph, the 
  7. Luftwaffe's flying wing was nearly 200 
  8. mph faster than the P-38.  The Gotha's 
  9. sleek profile and stealthy construction also 
  10. would have allowed it to approach Allied 
  11. installations without being detected by the 
  12. radar of that era.

  14.                     YOUR MISSION
  15.  
  16. Leading a formation of five Gotha 229s, 
  17. you are to attack the recently captured 
  18. Luftwaffe airfield at Bassenheim.  Two of 
  19. your flying wings will fly ahead to sweep 
  20. the area and attract any American fighters 
  21. to them.  You can then drop your bombs 
  22. on the airfield, and strafe the aircraft 
  23. parked there.
